Integration
Eliminating disparities among priority populations is an integral part of any coalition’s comprehensive program in tobacco education and prevention. If you can identify and acknowledge priority populations within your community, and include and engage members of those populations in forming your program plan and evaluation plan (Program Planning and Evaluation), the chances are good that you will create culturally competent strategies. Cultural competence will also increase the likelihood of success in two other key areas of tobacco education and prevention: Media Advocacyand Policy Advocacy.
