Organization
The Learning Center is organized in a hierarchy. Lessons are broken
into small tasks. Each task contain three sections: an "Inform
Me" section, a "Show Me" section and a "Watch
Me" section.
To get a better sense for how the lessons are organized, please
read the descriptions below:
Lessons
The learning center currently offers four lessons: Build
a Coalition, Advocate
Effectively for Policies, Media
Advocacy and Tobacco
Basics.
Tasks
Each lesson is broken into tasks. For example, the "Build a Coalition" lesson is broken into five tasks. In this lesson you learn how to:
- Review activities and define roles
- Recruit members
- Create a team
- Develop leadership and
- Sustain involvement
Inform Me, Show Me and Watch Me
Each task has an
Inform Me, a
Show Me, and a
Watch Me section.

This section contains information collected from a variety of professional
tobacco control resources. You can access this section to read more
about topics of interest to you and your coalition.

This section shows you how various coalitions have implemented the
"Inform Me" tips and tactics in their communities. Examine case
studies, testimonials, and news stories to see how real coalitions
have fought for tobacco control.

This section provides you with an opportunity to practice using the tips provided in the lesson. Job aids and activities are available to help you test your knowledge and modify information for your specific community.
